R&S CERAMIC CYCLONES
Ceramic cyclones meet the demanding requirements
of today's coal and mineral processing industries. R&S Ceramic
Cyclone models available from Clinch River Corporation include:
Model RS/C Classifying
Model RS/HM Heavy Medium
Model RS/WO Water Only
Combinations and alternate versions are possible due to the interchangeability
of the inlet, vortex, and apex orifices. This interchangeability
permits fine tuning in difficult or changing feed material applications.
Precision cast monolithic ceramic liners reduce joints providing
extended life and longer warranties in conditions where abrasive
products or corrosion might cause excessive wear on metal or tiled
components.
MODEL RS/C - Classifying Cyclone
Model RS/C Classifying Cyclones maintain a consistent
efficiency and accuracy in separation, concentration and classification
or dewatering over a wide range of materials. Differences in specific
gravity and particle size can be compensated for and fine-tuned
to optimum performance by selecting components with various orifice
sizes. Inlet, underflow and vortex finder diameters can be varied
in an infinite number of combinations to accomplish the separations
or sizing at the capacity desired. Further control may be exercised
by adjusting the inlet feed pressure.
Model
RS/C is a modular design that permits adding or subtracting cones
to increase or decrease size for meeting changing requirements in
processing. Components subject to more wear through abrasive or
corrosive action can be replaced without disturbing the other sections.
Each cone section has its own ceramic liner for economy of replacement.
In small-particle, high-velocity impingement environments, cast
refrax silicon nitride bonded silicon carbide combines the abrasion
resistance of silicon carbide with the extremely strong silicon
nitride bond and has outstanding corrosion resistant properties.
Standard ceramic liners offered are cast refrax silicon carbide.
Optional alumina ceramic tile is available.
The piped outlet version is standard on this cyclone. However,
a NiHard overflow cap with long wear life and reduced maintenance
is also available. The cap also allows a more compact installation
that the piped elbow and may be had in NiHard or ceramic tile lined.
Cyclones may be ordered in clusters of 4, 6, or more, complete
with distributor and collection tubs, ready to set into your circuits.
MODEL RS/HM - Heavy Medium Cyclone
Model RS/HM Heavy Medium Cyclones permit upgrading marginal coal
seams to premium quality by removing ash forming minerals, gangue,
and pyritic sulfur. They separate and clean a full range of coal
and mineral products down to zero efficiently, through all capacities.
Using a viscose mixture of water, product and magnetite, specific
gravities are carefully controlled to achieve desired separation
of impurities regardless of particle size or shape.
This
cyclone is superior in recovery of coal fines that are lost in other
processes, increasing the output and profitability of the preparations
plant. Heavy Medium Cyclones produce no measurable degradation of
coal or mineral products.
Magnetite losses can be minimized through a patented magnetic
medium recovery system and closed circuit water recycling.
Components of the cyclones can be replaced individually, a feature
especially desirable in sections subject to unusual abrasive wear.
Cast refrax silicon nitride bonded silicon carbide ceramic liners
are offered as standard, with an optional alumina ceramic available.
The piped outlet version is standard on this cyclone, however,
a NiHard overflow cap, with long wear life, reduced maintenance,
and shorter overall length, is also available.
MODEL RS/WO Water Only Cyclone Model
Model RS/WO Water Only cyclone is offered in standard
or high capacity units, achieving separation through extremely high
centrifugal forces in the ascending vortex. Used as scalpers ahead
of other cleaning units such as heavy medium cyclones or concentrating
tables, they can reduce the size of or number of these units. This
lowers the cost of preparation and recovery significantly. Installed
following Jigs in middlings circuits, Water Only cyclones offer
an inexpensive alternate to reclaiming fine material liberated by
crushing that may otherwise be misplaced.
Like
the other cyclones in the line, the Water Only cyclone is of modular
design and construction. Components subject to heavy wear can simply
be replaced without disturbing the other sections.
In small particle, high velocity impingement environments, cast
refrax silicon nitride bonded silicon carbide combines the abrasion-resistance
of silicon carbide with the extremely strong nitride bond and has
outstanding corrosive-resistant properties. The standard ceramic
liner is cast refrax silicon carbide. Optional alumina ceramic AD-90
is available.
The piped outlet version is standard on the cyclone. However,
a NiHard overflow cap with long wear life, reduced maintenance,
and a shorter overall length is also available. |
